Sat/Sun/Mon Southwest Rocks revisited.

Decided to blow the cobwebs gathered from my 19 day holiday in Japan away with a good hit out over the weekend. It had been 19 years since I last ran this marathon .My preparation could have been better although on the plus side I have had a good rest with only low speed jogging for the last month,(apart from a couple of faster paced runs in Japan), and I do seem to be in a bit of a purple patch just at the moment.
Saturday was spent driving up,registering, eating and drinking to prepare for the run.
Sundays run went pretty much as imagined with MrD going off in search of a p.b. (Bye bye).
I was looking to maintain 4 min kays with the aim of being close to 2:50.
This plan was going reasonably well until the winds - pre storm when the goal changed and I would now be happy to finish a little slower.Basically a good dogged/ragged run with little comfort at any stage and was happy to keep it going up the hills on return to S.W.R. Have to be very happy with the time considering and a sub 2:50 will be the aim next time around.
Monday was a slow Fountains road - ran about an hour after fish & chips in about 48:30.Everything seemed fine apart from needing to ice the right knee.
